Your Itinerary
Arrival in Puno and Acclimatization (starts Saturday, Tuesday, or Thursday)
We’ll pick you up at your hotel in Lima and provide a private transfer to the airport for your flight to Juliaca/Puno (we recommend an early flight so you can spend the afternoon resting and acclimating to the altitude).
Upon landing, our private transportation will be waiting to take you to your hotel in Puno.

The Floating Islands of Uros and Taquile
7:00 a.m. We set sail for the famous Floating Islands of the Uros, located in the Lake Titicaca National Reserve (the highest navigable lake in the world). Here you’ll discover how the community keeps its ancient traditions and the art of totora reed weaving alive.
We continue by motorboat (a 2.5-hour journey) to the natural island of Taquile, enjoying the breathtaking views of the Cordillera Real along the way. Taquile is world-renowned for its community organization and textile art, recognized by UNESCO.
You’ll enjoy a traditional lunch featuring local products overlooking the lake and have free time to explore the artisan market before returning to Puno.

Titicaca Train to Cusco (Mondays, Thursdays, or Saturdays only)
7:00 a.m. Transfer to the station to board the award-winning Titicaca Train. Embark on one of the most beautiful train journeys in the world (10 hours).
Enjoy an open-air observation car, a first-class gourmet lunch, traditional dance performances, and live music as we cross the spectacular Collao Plateau.
We will make a stop at La Raya (4,335 m.a.s.l.), the highest point, to photograph the majestic Nevado Chimboya. Arrival in Cusco at dusk and transfer to your hotel.

Machu Picchu
I’ll pick you up early at your hotel in Cusco for the transfer to the Ollantaytambo train station, where you’ll board the Vistadome train bound for Aguas Calientes.
We’ll take a bus up to the Inca citadel. Accompanied by a private guide, you’ll tour the citadel, taking in the panoramic views from the Guardian’s House, the Main Temple, and the Intihuatana.
You’ll have free time for lunch in Aguas Calientes. In the afternoon, we’ll take the train back, and our private transport will drop you off at the door of your hotel in Cusco.

City tour and departure
8:30 a.m. You’ll begin your city tour by visiting Cusco Cathedral, built on the site of the ancient palace of the Inca Wiracocha. Next, you’ll head to the Qorikancha Temple, the “Golden Temple,” an Inca ceremonial center dedicated to the sun.
Afterward, we’ll head to the archaeological sites surrounding the city. Our first stop is the Sacsayhuamán fortress, famous for its gigantic stone blocks. We’ll continue to Qenqo, an intriguing ceremonial center. Next, we’ll visit Puka-pukara, known as the “Red Fortress,” a military checkpoint. Finally, we’ll explore Tambomachay, the “Inca Bath,” a temple dedicated to the worship of water. The tour, lasting approximately 5 hours, concludes with a return to the city of Cusco at 2:30 p.m.
In the afternoon, hotel pickup and transfer to Velasco Astete Airport to catch the return flight to Lima at 7:00 p.m. (suggested approximate time).
