DAY 02

Andean Wedding in Misminay

Departure for the Sacred Valley. Visit to the community of Misminay for an experiential tourism activity: an Andean blessing ritual invoking the Andean gods—Mother Earth, from whom we will ask for blessings; and the mountains, whom we will call upon for protection, guidance, and purification of the couple.
After the wedding, we head to the Huayoccari estate for lunch, where we immerse ourselves in Cusco’s history, surrounded by a beautiful landscape of orchids and renowned paintings from the Cusco School.

DAY 03

Sacred Valley (small group tour)

An in-depth exploration of the Sacred Valley. We’ll begin at the Maras Salt Mines (pre-Inca salt mines) and the circular agricultural laboratories of Moray, which served as an Inca research center; its unique feature lies in its agricultural terraces, which are built in the shape of an amphitheater
We will continue to the archaeological site of Ollantaytambo, where we will take a guided tour of the residence of the Inca Pachacuti. You will see the impressive monoliths and the Temple of the Sun.
After the tour, you will remain at the Ollantaytambo station, where you will board the 3:37 PM Vistadome Observatory train bound for the town of Aguas Calientes. During the journey, you will enjoy an onboard show, background music, and a balcony from which to admire the Inca landscape.
Once there, staff from the Hotel Tierra Viva will be waiting to take you to the hotel.

DAY 05

Mountain of Colors (shared)

Early in the morning, we’ll pick you up from your hotel and head south from Cusco. The drive to Cusipata, where we’ll have breakfast, takes about two hours. From there, we’ll continue for another hour, during which you’ll see llamas, alpacas, and local people along the way.
Phula Wasi Pata will be the starting point of the hike, which takes about 1 hour or more, depending on your walking pace. Here, you’ll also have the option to rent a horse if you’re not feeling well (remember that Vinicunca Mountain is 5,000 meters above sea level). From this point, we’ll have the best view of the mountains and the snow-capped Ausangate at 6,400 meters above sea level. We answer your questions

Frequently Asked Questions

1. Does the “Andean Wedding” in Misminay have any legal validity?

The Andean Wedding is a purely spiritual and symbolic ceremony. It is a beautiful ancestral ritual officiated by a local shaman (paco) in which, through offerings to Pachamama (Mother Earth) and the Apus (mountain spirits), the couple’s union is purified, protected, and blessed. It is the perfect opportunity to renew your vows or celebrate your love in a deeply spiritual and unique way, without any legal formalities involved.

2. Is the visit to the Mountain of Seven Colors physically demanding?

Day 5 is the most physically challenging part of the itinerary. We will hike at an altitude of around 5,000 meters above sea level, which makes the ascent, though short, demanding. However, we have scheduled it toward the end of your trip to ensure your bodies are already fully acclimated. Additionally, to keep the focus on the couple’s enjoyment and comfort, there is the option to rent horses along the route to complete most of the ascent effortlessly.

3. We noticed there are private and shared tours—how does the service work?

We have designed this itinerary to strike the perfect balance between exclusivity and immersion. Intimate moments such as the Andean Wedding, airport transfers, and, of course, the guided tour inside the Machu Picchu citadel, are 100% private for the two of you. The excursions to the Sacred Valley and the Mountain of Colors are conducted in small (shared) groups, which allows for a dynamic experience without losing the personalized attention that characterizes our service.

4. What kind of clothes should we pack for this romantic trip?

We suggest dressing in layers. For excursion days (Sacred Valley, Machu Picchu, and Vinicunca), it is essential to bring comfortable hiking clothes, shoes with good traction, a windbreaker, sunglasses, and sunscreen. For moments of relaxation, lunches at haciendas, and dinners in Cusco or Aguas Calientes, we recommend packing “smart casual” attire so you can enjoy your romantic evenings in total comfort and style.

5. Can we bring all our luggage for the night we’ll spend in Aguas Calientes?

Due to strict security and space policies of the railway companies (PeruRail / IncaRail), you are only allowed to board trains to Machu Picchu with carry-on luggage not exceeding 5 kg (11 lbs) per person. Your main luggage will be kept completely safe at your hotel in Cusco, waiting for your return. For this romantic night at the Sumaq Hotel, you’ll only need a small backpack with the essentials.

6. Can you adapt the menus and lunch at the Hacienda if we have dietary restrictions?

Absolutely. Gastronomy is a fundamental pillar of this romantic experience. Both the banquet at the historic Hacienda Huayoccari and our dining recommendations can be adapted to any diet (vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free) or allergy. We just need you to let us know your preferences at the time of booking so that every meal is a safe and delicious celebration of your love.
