DAY 01

Inca Engineering and Dazzling Landscapes

We begin our tour with direct pickup from your hotel to begin the journey to the spectacular route of the Sacred Valley. On the way, we will have a small and picturesque stop in the town of Maras, famous for preserving its colonial façades, and then head to the impressive archaeological and agricultural center of Moray. Here, you will be amazed by the enormous concentric circular terraces that, according to historians, functioned as an advanced and sophisticated Inca botanical laboratory.
Finishing our exploration in Moray, we will continue with a visit to the famous salt mines or "Salineras" of Maras. It is an astonishing complex of thousands of stepped pools carved into the mountainside, fed by an underground spring, creating a dazzling white landscape exploited since pre-Inca times.
Once this dazzling landscape visit is over, we will go to the archaeological center of Chinchero, a town recognized worldwide for its living culture, its textile mastery and its beautiful colonial church built directly on imposing Inca foundations. After soaking up history and tradition, we will take our tourist transportation to return comfortably to the city of Cusco, arriving at approximately 2:30 p.m.

Frequently Asked Questions

1. What are the available times and how long does the tour last?

The tour lasts approximately 6.5 hours. This tour operates exclusively in the morning shift, starting with pickup at your hotel at 08:00 AM and returning to the city of Cusco around 02:30 PM.

2. Do I have to buy tickets on my own?

No, the income is included in the package. You will need the Cusco Tourist Ticket (General or Partial) to access Moray and Chinchero. Additionally, entry to the Salineras de Maras has a separate cost (S/ 20 for foreigners and S/ 15 for nationals) that is paid in cash at the same door.

3. Does the tour include lunch or a snack?

No, the service does not include food. Finishing around 02:30 PM, you will be back in Cusco in time for a late lunch. We recommend having a good breakfast before leaving and bringing some light snacks and water with you for the road.

4. Is it a physically demanding tour due to the altitude?

It is a tour of mild to moderate physical demand, made up of short walks at the visiting sites. However, we will visit areas of high elevation, with Chinchero being the highest point (3,762 m.a.s.l. / 12,342 ft). We recommend having rested well and always walking at a calm pace.

5. What clothing and personal items should I bring?

It is essential to bring your Original Passport or DNI. We suggest dressing in layers to adapt to the morning cold and midday sun, wearing footwear with good grip for uneven surfaces and don't forget your sun protection (glasses, hat and sunscreen), as well as money in local currency.

6. How will we move between the different attractions?

All trips are made aboard a comfortable tourist transport. The vehicle will pick you up at your hotel at the beginning of the morning, transport you safely through the Sacred Valley route connecting Maras, Moray, Salineras and Chinchero, and finally bring you back to the center of Cusco.
